Cindy Muzzy
Cindy Muzzy was born and raised in New York City. She studied piano as a child and played guitar and sang in her teens. She stopped when she went to college.
“My love for music didn’t end, though”. She picked up the guitar again at age 47 and hasn’t put it down since. “I found my voice again”. She began playing at open mics with Steve Smith, the father of one of her daughter’s classmates. Soon another school parent, Scott Wilbur, joined them as drummer. Seeing the potential for a band, Cindy contacted Paul Hale, a bass player whom she met at her first open mic and MidLife Crisis was born.
“My music influences are too numerous to pinpoint. We are talking decades! It began with the British Invasion and the folk singers of the 60’s. I was a music DJ at my college radio station in the 70’s and I had access to a music library of about 5,000 records which I took full advantage of. My Cuban heritage exposed me to Latin music and I sing fluently in Spanish . Rock and roll has always been my first love though”.
These different styles are evident in the band’s musical selections. “The songs we play take me to different places in my life and that’s where I want to take our audience”.
Cindy lives in rural Upper Bucks County with her husband (the band’s harmonica player) and two of her four children.
